About
The purpose of this blog is to shed some light into web marketing for Online Colleges and Online Universities. The industry that I work with is Distance Education/Online Education, primarily dealing with brick and mortar institutions that offer an Online component to their College or University.
In this industry there are many different ways to market. The aggressive nature of the industry makes it very important to take time to learn about who your audience is, what they want, and how you can let them know that you have what they are looking for. There are companies that focus on SEM, or e-mail marketing, some do both. There are those that use a PPL (Pay-Per-Lead) , or PPC (Pay-Per-Click), generation model to get leads. The question is what is more effective, and what works best in what situation. Of course the buck doesn’t stop there. Once you get the leads what is the best way to turn that lead into a student.
As I’m entrenched in the world of education marketing play different roles as a recruiter, enrollment specialist, SEM specialist and even part of the SEO team, I find interesting facts on a daily basis. This is where I will share interesting facts with those who wish to find information on Best Practice of gaining students for your school. Since I primarily deal with Online Education most of the information contained in this blog is about said area, but some of the information can also transfer into traditional marketing and enrollment management.
